Obsidian Periodic Notes: Weekly Templates & Reviews

Weekly Notes and the Periodic Notes Plugin

Periodic notes extend the daily note idea to longer cycles: one note per week, month or quarter, each created from its own template. The week is where most people should start, and this category's download covers it. The Weekly Note + Weekly Review template puts both halves of the cadence in a single note per ISO week, a Monday plan up top and an end-of-week review underneath, with wins, personal numbers, carried-over items and next week's focus. Four consecutive filled example weeks show how open loops actually move from one week to the next.

It runs on the core Templates plugin out of the box. The Periodic Notes community plugin is optional, only needed if you want Obsidian to create each weekly note for you on schedule, and a Templater variant adds the date range and previous/next links automatically. The Templates vs Templater guide covers installing either flavor.

If you do not keep daily notes yet, set those up first from the daily notes category. A weekly review works best as a summary layer over daily raw material, not as a replacement for it, and the review sections in this template assume there is a week of notes to look back on.
