About Vaultorial

What Vaultorial is

Vaultorial is a free library of templates and starter vaults for Obsidian: daily notes, task systems, PARA and zettelkasten setups, study vaults, reading trackers, campaign managers for game masters. Every download is a plain zip of Markdown files released under the MIT license, with the same files mirrored in a public GitHub repository. There is no account, no newsletter gate and no paid tier — the site is funded by advertising, and the templates are the product of wanting them to exist.

How the templates are made

Each template is built as a real vault and tested in Obsidian before it is published. The example notes are written specifically so the structure is visible in use — a PARA vault ships with projects mid-flight, a zettelkasten with its notes actually linked — and the screenshots on every page are captures of that very vault, not mockups. Every template page declares which plugins are required and which are optional, and the zips contain only text files: Markdown notes plus a minimal, readable JSON configuration. What you can do with the files is spelled out in plain words on the templates license page.

Who is behind it

Vaultorial is made by Jorge Belda, a designer based near Alicante, Spain, who has been building and maintaining template sites for several years and keeps his own notes in Obsidian. It is a one-person project: the same person builds the vaults, writes the guides and answers the email. If you spot a mistake or a template that could be better, the contact page explains how to reach me — reports from real use are how the templates improve.
